What is JSON-LD schema markup?
JSON-LD is the structured data format Google recommends. It sits in a script tag and describes the entities on a page, such as your organisation, an article, a product or FAQs, using the Schema.org vocabulary.
Where do I put the generated code?
Paste the script tag into the HTML of the page it describes, in the head or body. In WordPress, use a header/footer code plugin or your SEO plugin's custom schema option.
Does schema help AI search?
Structured data makes facts explicit, which helps search engines and AI systems identify what a page is and who publishes it. It must match the visible content. Google does not require it for AI Overviews, but it supports rich results and entity understanding.
How do I test my schema?
Use Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema.org validator, then run a GEO score check, whose Schema Validator checkpoint lists missing required and recommended properties.
